Our Anatolia motorbike tours take in everything from the unparalleled madness of the traffic in to the incredible trails that pass through the paddy fields and up into the lush mountain forests. Riding in Anatolia is a joy from sunrise to sunset and it never fails to impress!
From twisty tarmac roads to rocky hill climbs and winding singletrack, the riding terrain on our Anatolian motorbike tours is certainly varied! That said, there is little to no sand, infrequent ruts and our tours are scheduled during the dry season to avoid the worst of the muddy conditions. So while the terrain can be challenging in places, surface under-tyre is usually quite consistent hard dirt & gravel. This actually makes the riding quite suitable for novice dirt bike riders and we always have the option to avoid the more technical sections if needed.
The riding in Anatolia is just beautiful. Whether you’re an enduro pro or relatively new to the off-road scene, you’ll have an absolute blast riding in Anatolia!
Rolling hills, terraced rice paddies, flowing rivers & waterfalls – the scenery in Türkiye is simply breathtaking. No two days feel the same on our motorbike tours in Türkiye and the clouds will often roll into valleys as you’re riding high above, transforming the entire feel of the place. It’s a beautiful country and the motorcycle is without the best way to explore it properly!
Turkey has a collectivist culture whereby strong loyalty is shown to familial and social groups, as well as the broader nation. People’s relationships with their neighbours and community are generally closer than what many from the English-speaking West. Turkish culture is a diverse and rich blend of various influences, including Central Asian, Middle Eastern, and European traditions. Here are some key aspects of Turkish culture:
Cuisine: Turkish cuisine is famous for its rich flavors and diverse dishes, such as kebabs, baklava, borek, and doner. The use of spices and herbs, such as cumin, sumac, mint, and parsley, is an important part of Turkish cooking.
Music: Music is an integral part of Turkish culture, with a long history of folk, classical, and popular music. Traditional instruments such as the saz (a stringed instrument), the darbuka (a percussion instrument), and the ney (a reed flute) are widely used in Turkish music.
Art: Turkish art is known for its intricate patterns, vibrant colors, and unique designs. Turkish ceramics, calligraphy, and textiles are particularly notable.
Architecture: Turkey has a rich architectural heritage, with stunning examples of Ottoman, Seljuk, and Byzantine styles. Istanbul, in particular, is home to many iconic buildings, such as the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.
Hospitality: Turkish people are known for their hospitality and warmth. Guests are treated with great respect, and it is customary to offer food and drink to visitors.
Religion: The majority of the population in Turkey is Muslim, and Islamic traditions are an important part of Turkish culture. However, the country is also home to significant populations of Christians and Jews, and religious tolerance is generally practiced.
Festivals: There are many festivals and celebrations in Turkey, such as the Eid al-Fitr (the end of Ramadan), the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, and the Republic Day. These events are marked by parades, fireworks, and other festive activities.
Overall, Turkish culture is a fascinating blend of traditions and influences, and it continues to evolve and thrive in the modern world.
Warning: Do not travel to Turkey on a diet! If you’re trying to cut carbs or get a beach bod in Turkey, you might want to forget it. Maybe you have the willpower to say no but for most; mouth-watering Turkish cuisine is hard to pass up on. Turkish cuisine is chiefly the continuance of Ottoman cuisine, which in turn used numerous elements and influences from other parts of the world such as Central Asia, Balkan and Caucasian cuisines. Not only are there mountains of Turkish delight and juicy kebabs but there’s so many other delicacies you must try!
